In a recent meta-analysis study of more than 38,000 cases, researchers found that higher consumption of sugar beverages was directly associated with an 18 percent increase in the incidence of health issues per one serving a day. Consider that many people don’t stop with just one either! This study, while not ground breaking, further supports existing literature that consuming sugary drinks raises many risks. (Consider also that men drinking 2 or more sodas per day increase their risk of even more health issues by as much as 40%)
There is a wealth of existing evidence that soft drinks can increase fat people issues risks yet beverage companies are allowed to sell these virtually everywhere, marketing them to kids, without even a placing a warning on the labels.
The analysis of these many studies has indicated that sugary soft drinks may account for as many as 2 million health issues in the U.S over a 10-year period!! If you are prone to health issues it is essential that you evaluate your beverage consumption. Many people avoid desserts and other sweets but fail to realize that even a couple sugary soft drinks can provide over 100 grams of high fructose corn syrup – one of the worst forms of sugar.
Find alternatives to these drinks and it will begin to improve your health status almost immediately. Teas, diet drinks in moderation, diluted fruit juices, and yes even water are all better choices.
The average person consumes his/her bodyweight in highly refined sugar every year.
