The Chemical Basis of Emotions, for many generations medical science believed that emotions and biochemistry were totally separate entities. Today however, we are aware that all of our human emotions have a biochemical basis and that’s what makes them occur. When we feel emotions, changes are taking place in the brain. The essence of emotions as it were, originate as amino acids from proteins. Virtually all brain function is regulated by and takes place from a group of chemicals called neurotransmitters. The emphasis of work done by Dr. Pfeiffer revolves around the use of amino acids. Brain supplements therefore must also focus on the key amino acids shown to affect neurotransmitter activity.
